Ketchup.

I have not made a blog post in a long time. And for some weird reason I feel a little bit guilty about...
Here are just some random highlights of the past little while.

1.  Jake and I have actually looked at a couple small houses. Since he's working on foreclosed homes right now, he has the keys so if he sees one I might like we go look at it together and talk about what we liked/didn't like about it and what we want in our first home. No no, we are not looking to buy one right now but we think it's a good idea to get a feel for how this whole thing works. And he's taking a Real Estate finance class in the fall so hopefully we'll be pretty prepared!

2.  Oh it was my birthday 9 days ago. I turned 21. So we went to the casino and gambled a little just cause I can (and because I love blackjack and am pretty good at it most of the time) and of course I ordered a beer... for his friend! I asked the waiter if he'd please ask for my i.d. He probably thought I was a little strange, especially when I handed it off to someone else!

3.  We've gone i. Now we both have iPhones (Jakey-poo of Love got me one for my birthday since he got one from his parents at Christmas). Add me to your Words with Friends app! Both of our computers are on the fritz. So yes, we bought Macs. Refurbished AND on sale AND Jake has landed some good houses that have made a little extra money. I was so nervous when he told me that he actually bought them I almost peed my pants. I am so scared of spending big wads of cash. His came on Saturday and mine should be here any day now. I am also proud to announce that we are not in debt and bought them flat out. The whole converting files thing is a pain in the patootchie and so NOT as easy as everyone said it would. The frustration it caused resulted in a few words and phrases that should not be published.

4.  My internship at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School as an athletic trainer has come to an end. I will not miss the khaki pants, polo shirts, looking like a high school student, and identity lanyard but I will miss the students I was in class with and the athletes. My last few days were spent working the regional softball tournament and I enjoyed the games much more than I thought I would. I did get a gnarly farmers tan and lanyard tan on my neck from it. My lanyard was the only thing that made me look different than the kids. I got to help with a few concussions, icing and wrapping, a couple of girls running into the fence (what the...?) a lip getting caught in braces, broken fingers, and a fingernail that was ripped off by a ball at a baseball game. Oh, and I filled up a LOT of ice buckets and water jugs. Tomorrow I am starting at Pendola Training which is an athletic clinic that helps injured athletes as well as those who just want to get better at their sport. Yes! I get to live in work out attire for the next couple months!

5.  Jake's sister, Rachel, interviewed us and posted it on her blog. She's doing it with all her siblings and calling it "The Sib Series". I would post a link but it is much too embarrassing for me to want to do that.

6.  Yesterday I cut Jake's hair for the first time (actually the first time I ever cut anyone's hair) and did a fantastic job. I don't wan to toot my horn but... Toot! Toot! Shout out to Jeni for letting me watch her so many times and to Tom for letting me practice a few strokes with the hair clippers. *tear* I feel so blessed to have such great examples of barbery in my life. I am considering charging a few bucks to cut some guys' hair out on the island. Hmm...

7.  I saw a homeless/poor man on the exit ramp at the freeway and I'm always a sucker for those. I can't help but feel so awful for those people (I know, I know some are just scams and will go buy booze and cigs with the money bla bla bla). Anyways, I read his sign and it actually gave me a little hope in people that actually are trying to make their lives better. Instead of it just asking for money, his said "Handyman, will do odd jobs and fix anything for a meal/ few dollars". I really wished that we had a house with a leaky faucet or something so I could help him (I didn't have any cash on me. And I know, my husband grew up doing plumbing so he could do something like that for free but it would've been for a good cause).

8.  And last but not least...

This is Jake standing in the corner trying to find an internet connection. I took this opportunity to pants him (thanks to mys sisters who taught me this at a young age; when you have the opportunity to pull someones pants down just because... you take it). This was much more appealing to me than last night when Jake's 18 year old brother pulled his pants down to his ankles and left them there. Ian, who is 20, immediately followed this example. I'm just happy that no other males were in the room to continue the trend!

And so, that is our life as of late.

Oh and bonus!

Shellie is having a baby girl in October!

First time for everything...

Growing up, paying to get our car washed, even thinking about it, was insanity.

My mom would say "Why would you pay someone to wash your car when you can do it for free in the driveway?" (Add disgusted look on the face)

Well the 15 hour drive from Arizona to Nevada made my little Lucy disgustingly dirty. Inside and out! And I like to keep my car clean... really clean.

There was dirt, dead bugs, bunny sadness (maybe not physically but emotionally still there) sand, crushed goldfish crackers, you name it dirty-ing the in and out of the car.

So on Saturday, Jake taught me how to go to a drive through car wash for my very first time. And I'm almost 21 years old.

It was weird. SO weird! And a little bit scary...

I'm claustrophobic and when I couldn't see out the windows because of the suds, and knew I wasn't allowed to open the doors, I panicked a little bit.

They had free ever-lasting-vacuums at the end and rags to wipe down your dash, etc.

It was easy. It cheap. It enabled me to be lazy. And made me happy that Lucy is clean, happy and healthy.

Copyright.

Lately while blogstalking I noticed something rather interesting and annoying to me.

Fellow bloggers are taking my stuff.

Yeah.

Who does that?

I have noticed that pictures I use (from google of course) are in others blog posts. Hmmm... What a coincidence that we just happened to both stumble upon the same picture from the 18th page of Google images!

OR

Blog titles are identical, and yes, I used it first and before I went private.

I seriously considered commenting on the peoples' posts and calling them out on stealing my material.

Please. Come up with your own ideas.

Thanks.

In other news... I would like to share with you all my latest traumatic experience which I was laughed at by my mother-in-law, 12 year old sister-in-law, and husband.

As we all know, I grew up in the suburbs of Arizona. The only experience I have had with road kill is what I see on the side of the road when "road tripping" in the desert. The drive up to the house here in Nevada is a stretch of road with no street lights and bunnies that you have to be careful of because they like to dart across the road at night.

On the way home from "The Olive Garden" the other night Jake and I were making our way up the road and chit chatting. A rabbit then ran in front of the car and I felt the car hit it, then the back wheel run over the creature!

What the crap just happened? Of course... I started crying. No, not just crying sobbing. I was sobbing over a rabbit! When we got to the house, I was re-taught the "circle of life" like a 5 year old and yes, I know, it happens.

But come on, you can understand my emotional-ness after feeling the hit and then the bump.

Rest in peace my little friend.

The least exciting blog-post ever.

We finally made it. I am so happy to be done with traveling for the next couple of months.

Jake and I started our  journey with the usual 6 hour plane ride from Oahu to Arizona. We were only there for a couple of days, but we managed to fit in a few important activities. We got to hang out with the fam, ran errands with Jenica and I had a date with Morgan. I also finally got MY car registered in MY name and it has its very own insurance policy. I've owned my car for 2 years now, but it was still in my parents name on the title and excuse me, but I would like credit for buying my very own (first) vehicle. Our last morning in Arizona, we went and saw Kellen, my 4 year old nephew play at a soccer game. The field was so small and after each goal made, the kids would look over to make sure it was seen. Kellen was a stud and I'm pretty sure he's the best on their team...and I'm mapping out his pro career, too.

After the game we started our 5 hour drive to Vegas. There, we met up with Shellie and her husband Mark. We ended up staying up until 5 that morning and got up at 9. We had breakfast at the Wynn Buffet, which is my new favorite place to eat.

After breaky, Jake and I climbed back in to the car and started the third part of out trek to Reno. I would like to remind you all that my attention span is that of a 6 year olds. After about an hour, I took over the driving for a few hours. When it was time for Jake to drive the last stretch, I was bugging him so much, he flat out ignored me. We finally made it to good ol' Reno (Sparks more specifically) Sunday night, and Monday we both hit the ground running by starting work!

Why you wish you came to our house.

Yes.  Events like these DO actually happen on a daily basis at our house.
Oh and don't even worry that he burped Dino-Nuggets from lunch in my face.

My sisters and I did this a lot growing up...and grown up. Especially on Sundays while watching "Sunday approved" movies.
There were about 55 of the next pictures... so here are a few highlights of the ones we took over the hour course. At one point I started complaining that my hip was hurting from kicking so many times and asked if we could stop. Jake goes "No! We are going to get this right! We do things right in this house!"

And last but not least, I would like to point out the "paintings" I made to decorate the living room.
The middle one we bought with the bookshelf but looked so lonely and boring on its own. So I bought some cheap canvas and spray paint that matched the towels and rug in the kitchen to make it look a little more homey.

An unexpected "donation"

You know those days where you wish you never woke up that morning?

That was today.

My background check for my nanny-ing place expired so I paid to get a new one done. It was denied. Apparently, when you change your name, the credit bureau does not get that information from the social security office. Isn't the government fantastic? And, when I called them, I could only talk to machines unless I paid $10 to talk to an "agent".So after cleaning the house and getting ready for the day, I took out the trash donated my shoes that I never wanted to let go, and checked the mail. In the mail was a $275 bill for an "office visit" to a doctor. "Oh HEEEEEEEEEEEEELL no!" Yeah. I cussed. Ex-communicate me. Then, I checked my e-mail telling me that although I would not be in the state of Hawaii, I needed to pay tuition for two terms because I was going to be an intern. Insert phrase from above here.

So, I decided that I needed to take care of these lovely issues and hopped on my bike and headed for the school. I went and talked to a few people and got some things straightened out. the insurance bill was a mistake and I only needed to pay $45. Still more than I would like but less than it was! Nice. Then, because of my special kind internship, I did not need to pay tuition. Beautiful.

I then headed over to my bike that was chained up through the tire, through the frame, and to the metal bike rack only to discover that some genius had stolen it. I only left here for about 45 minutes, and the bike that was parked next to it was still there. Rhonda is gone. That's when the waterworks hit. I searched every single bike rack on campus. Not there. This also includes the dorms, and the mens dorms where women are not allowed. I also filed a stolen bike with the security office, but that is pretty much not saying too much. The sad thing is, bikes and longboards get stolen here all the time! It's not uncommon!

First the kayak, now my bike. I'm praying that our cars and house are not next.

Dumpster Diving.

When we first moved here, we bought this TV for 3 bucks. A precious little 20 inch which we just recently sold for 20 big ones because...

But the other night Jake came home with this one.

A FREE 30 incher. Boo-yah, Grandma! A newly weds dream... free stuff.

You probably can't tell the difference with these pictures but trust me, there is a difference! Neither are seriously great, but they get the job done... just ignore the green corner.
