Scuba Steve

Jake recently got his scuba certification and went out on a dive at Shark's Cove. Here is the footage by my very own Scuba Steve.

Birthday Man.

This year for Jake's birthday we went shark diving with a group of people. We have been wanting to go for a while and so we made it his birthday celebration. That night we went to Dave and Buster's with some friends where we played games and had dinner.

Please ignore the half of my butt cheek... my computer wouldn't let me crop it.
Seriously.

Our group at 6am.
For birthdays we have also started a new tradition here at the Lyle-Hansen residence. The birthday-er gets to choose dinner for their entire birthday week. So for that week we had Jake's favorites.

V.Day.

In my family, we don't really do a whole lot for Valentine's Day. I would go to school and kids would tell about all the stuff they got for the holiday.

Whaaa...?

This year, I came home from class and Jake had cleaned the apartment, and got me chocolate and a couple roses.

Aawh!

That afternoon, we went to a wedding reception/ring ceremony, and then headed to town to run some errands.

On the way back, we stopped in Kaneohe and saw The Vow. I thought it was really cute, but sad that it was actually a true story.

Millionaires on the beach

Last weekend, Jake and I had the opportunity to stay at a house the company represents for the weekend.

We felt so cool staying in a $4 million house! It was so nice! We invited a few friends to stay with us the first night, and then we stayed for a couple more nights.

We had fun pretending we were tourists on the North Shore and having a fancy place.

Click here to drool over pictures of the house.

Pictures really don't do it justice.

And of course, there is always a video.

Team Mom.

Yup.

...

I'm the Team Mom.

...

And by that I mean I am the snack-packer, cell phone/wallet holder, sunscreen rememberer (but not so much of a user), picture taker, video taper to Jake's surfer buddies.

...

Lots of thanks to big bags, especially the new one my mom got me.

...

It can keep things hot OR cold.

And someday I'll be a real Team Mom.

...

The one that brings the cool snacks for our boys at half-time or after the game.

...

And it's gonna be great.

If Only We Had A Photographer...

Wanna know what I wish?

I wish we had a full time photographer that followed us around and took pictures. It's really hard to capture a moment when you have to jump up, grab the camera, set the lighting, set the self timer, and make sure it's pointed exactly the way you want it.

Like last night when Jake and I were in bed and he was playing his guitar for me.

That's why the Bachelor is so unrealistic. No one just has tons of cool pictures of themselves to make a scrapbook at the end of the season.

Glorious!

For our one year anniversary Jake got me this necklace that I really wanted. It was in the shape of a horseshoe and had little diamonds in it.

Over the break, I took it off and dropped it in my suitcase in a hurry. When we got home, I carefully unpacked but never found my necklace. I looked all around the floor, in my drawers... everywhere!

I was so scared to tell Jake I had lost it.

I called my mom and had her look in the room we stayed in but she had no luck either.

I told Jake that I lost it and to never buy me anything nice ever again because I would only lose it.

Last night I was cleaning off my nightstand and when I picked up an envelope, my necklace fell out!

It was glorious! Jake took the following pictures to document the moment.
