Beware to all

ShabbyApple.com had been recommended to me as a fantastic place to buy super cute dresses that were guaranteed to always work with G's and BYUH honorcode as well as be great quality with fantastic customer service.

May I PLEASE correct this individual?
My first experience was a terrible one and will be the last as well...
After loitering around the website I discovered some cute dresses I would like to purchase for my bridesmaids. Great. Looks good, it's modest, all of them can wear it. So 4 of the 6 dresses were received and the other 2 were out of stock until further notice. I also ordered my rehearsal dinner dress from them and was pleased with myself for having no glitches... so far.
I panicked.
I called the company and was reassured I could again order in a week.

Nope.

Call again. Order next week.

Nope.

May I remind you it was now less than 2 weeks before D-Day and I was till short 2 bridesmaids dresses?

I called again

SA - "Yeah the company is negotiating with the maker right now so we don't know when you can order it. Sorry."

Me - "I've been calling for three weeks and this is for a wedding happening is 13 days. When did you know about this? Why didn't someone tell me that instead of lying? This is a little bit important."

SA - "Recently."

Me - "When was that?"

SA - "Ummmm... Recently."

I had the girls order another dress by them in the same color so that the colors would be the same. I later got a call from a rep. saying that they would sell me those two just for the wedding. I was very happy with them and thrilled to be done with this!

Nope.
I told the girl that we had ordered another dress from them that was 4 dollars less. You would think that because of their lying and not caring about the importance of the situation (to me at least) that 8 whole dollars would be okay to lose, right?

Nope.

They called the two girls for their credit card info to charge them and additional 4 bucks. Wow. Fantastic business.

And SA sent the wrong sizes. Thanks.

While I was scouring their selection for new dresses, I also read some reviews. On all the dresses I looked at the reviews were not good. Most said that the dress was the wrong color, the quality was bad, or the fit was "awkward". Some even said that the dress had a shorter skirt or sleeves and could not be worm with garments.

Just a warning. Although their dresses may look great online, I highly recommend not ordering from them.

I definitely won't.

The Countdown

I would like to take a moment (at work) to let you all in on a little secret that is kinda a big deal. I get married in 18 days. Seriously?! 18. Really?! 18. It seems so crazy to me that the countdown has shrunken down to a "teen" number. I'm so nervousexcitedhappyanxious for this day to finally come.

I am so grateful for my sisters and mom that have been working so hard on my wedding since I am not able to do certain things (sometimes living on an island sucks).

Also, to my future family-in-law on creating a beautiful open house in Nevada that I cannot wait to see the finished product of!
With that, September 7th is on its way...

Talking in church

A week ago today, I was asked to do one of the things I am most afraid of. Falling into second place right after claustrophobia, like most people, I am terrified of speaking in public. A few things happen when I get nervous. Let me explain them as clearly as possible;

1. My stomach gets upset and I puke... yup! Think Princess Diaries.
2. I get wobbley and have to steady myself.
3. I get emotional and cry over everything.
4. I ramble about random things.
5. I talk really fast. No. You don't get it... Super fast. Or. I over compensate and talk too slowly
6. Cannot remember what I was supposed to be talking about and lose my train (I don't know...) of thought.

So... in 9 short hours, I will stand up in front of my ward and give a talk in which I will try not to vomit in front of everyone, stand up kinda straight, cry, have people wonder why I'm talking about something completely different than my subject, try to speak at a normal rate, and hopefully remember what those stupid bullet points meant that I scribbled on a sheet of paper.

Wish me luck, pray a LOT, and hope that everyone in church falls asleep before it is my turn to speak.

I'm engaged!!

Jake came to visit me in Arizona for Memorial Day weekend. Monday night, I took him to the airport and dropped him at the curb (which was his request). It made me a little sad, but he said he didn't want a long goodbye. That night, I went to bed and couldn't wait to see him again at the end of June. Tuesday morning, I went to work, texted him throughout the day, and then made my daily afternoon call on the way home. He asked me how much longer until I would be home and I told him that it was about 10 more minutes. He tried to get off the phone but I was very adamant that he continue to talk to me while I finished my drive. I hung up as I pulled into the driveway and noticed a white envelope on the door with my name on it. It was a scavenger hunt! I followed the hunt around my house, and was very suspicious... looking in closets, watching my back, etc. I watched the DVD that he made me and was told that my last clue was underneath the DVD player. It was a gift card to Malee's Thai Cuisine. I love Thai food and that is what we did on our first date. He told me that since he wasn't there, my sisters were going to take me. I thought about going another night because I really wanted to go to the gym but Diana was already planning on picking me up. We all went to dinner, and when I came home I opened the front door to find a path of rose petals and candles leading out to my backward which was decorated with flowers, tiki torches and twinkly lights. =) He did his shpeal of talking and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! When we came back inside, my family and some close friends were there to greet me. He did a very good job and I am so happy!

Saturday.

Saturday, it was a special day. It was the day I had a fun day.

It started at 8:30 in the morning. Jake made a giant comfy bed in the back of his truck, Benny. There, we had breakfast in bed in our pajamas! Froot loops, pineapple and donuts.

Then, we headed to Turtle Bay where we hit golfballs at the driving range. Actually, he hit golfballs and I mutilated the grass and broke many many tees.

Lunch.

Sailing on the Fritz! We took out his sail boat and sailed around. So glad the sharks decided to stay away. Eeek!

After that, we headed to Waikiki and sat in the hot tub at the Sheraton. We got cleaned up and went to the International Marketplace where we got some bomb aviator sunglasses. Mine are hot pink, thanks.

Then we had a delicious dinner at Cheesecake Factory where we were asked if we were on our honeymoon. Ummm... no. I'm sorry, the part where neither of us were wearing rings must have thrown her off!

It was a fun day that left me rather tired.

Tsunami

I am so glad that I was woken up at 3:30 on a Saturday to be alerted that there was a tsunami coming and expected to arrive at 11am! Upon instruction, I put together a backpack which contained the following important items...

0. Phone (in my pocke tof course!)
1. My laptop
2. My camera
3. My iPod
4, 5, 6. The chords for all of these items listed above.
7. A change of clothes
8. Bathing suit bottoms (I was supposed to do my laundry that day, so I had no clean underwear!)
9, 10, 11, 12. My wallet, S.S. card, birth certificate, passport, that fun stuff.

THEN I had the enjoyment of taking out my drawers and placing them as high as I could (a whole 2 feet on top of my bed).

After following these directions we were instructed to sit upstairs on the second floor and wait...

and wait...

and wait.

During this time I was introduced to Gossip Girl which has become my new addiction forcing me to lay in my bed, watching the seasons for hours upon end. Then, when emerging with blackened eyes and pale skin from being indoors, my hair frizzing out of a ponytail in pajamas I get looks of "Oh no... poor girl! Must be having a rough day." Nope. Just catching up on the newest trashy teen soap opera that encourages teen drinking, drugs, and causal sex. Now that's what I think of when I hear the words "Upper East Side private schools with over-privileged kids."

Back to the tsunami:

About 1:30, Nicole (my G.G. host) and i decided we'd had enough and ventured to the ground floor. What happened that day? Nothing. A 3 foot high wave hit the beach and it was over.

I napped, did my laundry, and completed a paper.

What a fantastic Saturday! The worst part...? It was a beautiful beach day!
