I'm engaged!!

Jake came to visit me in Arizona for Memorial Day weekend. Monday night, I took him to the airport and dropped him at the curb (which was his request). It made me a little sad, but he said he didn't want a long goodbye. That night, I went to bed and couldn't wait to see him again at the end of June. Tuesday morning, I went to work, texted him throughout the day, and then made my daily afternoon call on the way home. He asked me how much longer until I would be home and I told him that it was about 10 more minutes. He tried to get off the phone but I was very adamant that he continue to talk to me while I finished my drive. I hung up as I pulled into the driveway and noticed a white envelope on the door with my name on it. It was a scavenger hunt! I followed the hunt around my house, and was very suspicious... looking in closets, watching my back, etc. I watched the DVD that he made me and was told that my last clue was underneath the DVD player. It was a gift card to Malee's Thai Cuisine. I love Thai food and that is what we did on our first date. He told me that since he wasn't there, my sisters were going to take me. I thought about going another night because I really wanted to go to the gym but Diana was already planning on picking me up. We all went to dinner, and when I came home I opened the front door to find a path of rose petals and candles leading out to my backward which was decorated with flowers, tiki torches and twinkly lights. =) He did his shpeal of talking and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! When we came back inside, my family and some close friends were there to greet me. He did a very good job and I am so happy!

Saturday.

Saturday, it was a special day. It was the day I had a fun day.

It started at 8:30 in the morning. Jake made a giant comfy bed in the back of his truck, Benny. There, we had breakfast in bed in our pajamas! Froot loops, pineapple and donuts.

Then, we headed to Turtle Bay where we hit golfballs at the driving range. Actually, he hit golfballs and I mutilated the grass and broke many many tees.

Lunch.

Sailing on the Fritz! We took out his sail boat and sailed around. So glad the sharks decided to stay away. Eeek!

After that, we headed to Waikiki and sat in the hot tub at the Sheraton. We got cleaned up and went to the International Marketplace where we got some bomb aviator sunglasses. Mine are hot pink, thanks.

Then we had a delicious dinner at Cheesecake Factory where we were asked if we were on our honeymoon. Ummm... no. I'm sorry, the part where neither of us were wearing rings must have thrown her off!

It was a fun day that left me rather tired.

Tsunami

I am so glad that I was woken up at 3:30 on a Saturday to be alerted that there was a tsunami coming and expected to arrive at 11am! Upon instruction, I put together a backpack which contained the following important items...

0. Phone (in my pocke tof course!)
1. My laptop
2. My camera
3. My iPod
4, 5, 6. The chords for all of these items listed above.
7. A change of clothes
8. Bathing suit bottoms (I was supposed to do my laundry that day, so I had no clean underwear!)
9, 10, 11, 12. My wallet, S.S. card, birth certificate, passport, that fun stuff.

THEN I had the enjoyment of taking out my drawers and placing them as high as I could (a whole 2 feet on top of my bed).

After following these directions we were instructed to sit upstairs on the second floor and wait...

and wait...

and wait.

During this time I was introduced to Gossip Girl which has become my new addiction forcing me to lay in my bed, watching the seasons for hours upon end. Then, when emerging with blackened eyes and pale skin from being indoors, my hair frizzing out of a ponytail in pajamas I get looks of "Oh no... poor girl! Must be having a rough day." Nope. Just catching up on the newest trashy teen soap opera that encourages teen drinking, drugs, and causal sex. Now that's what I think of when I hear the words "Upper East Side private schools with over-privileged kids."

Back to the tsunami:

About 1:30, Nicole (my G.G. host) and i decided we'd had enough and ventured to the ground floor. What happened that day? Nothing. A 3 foot high wave hit the beach and it was over.

I napped, did my laundry, and completed a paper.

What a fantastic Saturday! The worst part...? It was a beautiful beach day!

Uh oh...

5 signs I've been hanging out with Jake too much

1. I came up with a "great business idea where I could hire college students!" I don't remember what it was, but still...
2. Somebody said the winds had changed and I automatically thought about how it would affect the surf.
3. I know where most of the surf spots are and which board is the best to ride at that spot.
4. When driving by Waimea I check to see if the waves are breaking.
5. I know a lot of surfing terms.

Morgan.Marilyn.Wood.

Morgan.Marilyn.Wood.

This post is dedicated to Morgan. Why? Well... Why not? (And because this my Valentine's Day gift to her I guess you could call it). Morgan dearest and I have been friends for a long time. Like third grade long. Ish. I do not recall the exact age that this true bonding began. We share so many likes and dislikes one would almost call it scary. I just call it sheer intuition.

1- We worked in hell (Rotelli Italian Cuisine and Pizza) together with the Italian mafia and terrorists from I don't even know where. Here we almost peed our pants together multiple times and I'm sure that maybe we even did. She also watched me trip over mats, stumble over my words with attractive customers, and be a brat to less then pleasurable "guests".

2- Q.T. Here we would be found lurking at random times of the night, on random days of the week, making fun of random people and giving them random life stories while insulting random parts of their outfits/lame attempts to flirt with each other. Here we made some phone calls to people in various states other than our own. I also wet her yoga pants here in front of the Soda Fountains while trying to make it the bathroom. But alas, I did not make it which is what usually happens with us. We try, but fail.

3-CGCC. Oh my. The good ol' days of community college.

4- Discovery Park. Where we took the Chevy Tracker 4 wheeling and I sprayed perfume in my eye. Here we also made some phone calls to people in various states other than our own as well.

5-Walmart. Missionary packages and a polorode camera. Bad...BAD idea.

6-Val Vista Lakes communities at Christmastime. The locations where most of our victims for "deering" occur.

Let the good times roll...

Because I can...

In September of 2009 I moved to one paradise from another. Why?? Because I can.
