Done-zo.

This morning I took my last final of the semester! I studied hard, read the questions thoroughly... a few times, and used up all but 10 minutes of the time given to me. I'm so glad it's over! Now just to wait for my grade which I feel is just as hard as taking the test itself.

I'm a totally different person when I'm not stressed, too. The apartment stays prettier, my skin gets better, I'm in a better mood! *sigh*

As I was walking to work today I saw lots of emotions on campus. Happiness, tears, sad, stress, tears, excitement, tears. Lots of tears today. I am just so happy that I am done for the semester and have zero studying to do for the next three weeks.

Grinch

Jake calls me a Grinch because I refuse to celebrate Christmas until November is OVER! Not just Thanksgiving, but the entire month. November already has a holiday. Why does Thanksgiving not get that much credit? It's really hard to believe it's Christmas time when trying to finish up school. On top of that, I think Christmas music is mostly annoying.

I'm sorry, okay.

I just can't help but already be tired of it by day three when it really is only the same 15 songs played over and over and over and over again. That is why I fully embrace weird renditions or even a few new ones that appear each year.

As I tell you this, I'm listening to Christmas music.

Mr. Hubby of mine is at a school meeting and I just finished cleaning the house. I do that when he leaves for something. I somehow think he'll come home and be impressed.

"Wow! This place looks great! You were so productive while I was gone! And even your nightstand shelves...? Wow! Erica, you really out-did yourself this time!"

But he never really notices that much. It's okay. I don't mind.

As I was listening to Pandora earlier while doing the dishes, a new Christmas song came on I had never heard. Yippee! When I checked the artist it was Justin Bieber. Crap.

I've been studying my butt off for finals lately and I was going to put in another half hour tonight but I have decided to slack it off and add in another session tomorrow. I am burnt out today. And I really will. I promise.

I took my lab practical today for my athletic training class and almost got 100%. I did all my skills perfectly until I did an open basket and forgot the ace wrap. I lost 10 points for it.
I know you may not have understood any of that, but I had to add that in.

The last final I have is on Thursday and it's the one I'm most worried about.

Motor Learning.

You may recall a post where I vented about that obnoxious teacher.

Wish me luck!

Sewing Project

This is the dress I decided to make for my project for sewing.
I needed more credits and it was only once a week. Don't make fun.

Complete with pockets...

And a tie in the back.

The final project was only supposed to take around 10 hours.

Mine took about 30 in the span of two weeks. I'm not kidding you.

I went to lab whenever it was open and smuggled a few little things home to work on it there.

The picture did not look that difficult.

It's not perfect, but I don't care.

I'm just glad I'm done with it, and so close to finishing the end of the semester.

Christmas break is just around the corner.

Wall Art

Remember when I took that photography class during the summer (first term)? Well I finally got my pictures back! I found the perfect place for them in the apartment and I think it feels just a little more homey as well.

Somethings never change.

I just put a small dent in the wall.

I leaned back in my chair and hit the wall.

Oops.

Looks like we won't be getting all of our deposit back if they notice...

The worst part is that this is not the first time I've done it.

When I was younger, like 10ish we'll say, I was rocking in my mom's rocking chair and definitely put a hole in the wall.

My parents didn't think I was so cute when that happened.

Even though I'm getting older which should mean more coordination, it looks like this just isn't one gift I've been given.

Rest In Peace

At the beginning of the semester Jake saw an advertisement for a Coke cup that McDonald's was giving out with the order of a large Value Meal. You know, those scams where you upgrade to way more food than you actually need for a small tricket or other piece of crap.

The next day, we drove on over and upgraded so that we could be the proud owners of a Coca Cola glass cup.

I think it was the best day of his life. Since we got that cup, he would not drink out of anything else (unless it was dirty, then he settled for a regular one). It was like a security blanket that helped him drink milk with Oreo's.

And then it happened...

I was doing the dishes one night and had just put it on the drying rack when I opened the drawer below it and out of no where the cup became a gymnast and flipped through the air landing on the rug and shattering all over the kitchen. I watched it in slow motion but knew there was nothing I could do to save this precious keepsake.

And she sticks the landing...

He heard the shatter and looked over from the couch. And that face... he made that face that says
 I-am-so-sad-about-this-but-I-don't-want-you-to-feel-bad-so-I'll-pretend-like-it's-okay. I felt so bad.

And now that glass-friend of his buried in the landfill to stay.

Visitor

A few weeks ago, Jake and I had a couple over. As we were talking and lounging around, Jake noticed a gigantic centipede. Instantly, I pictured it crawling into our bed in the middle of the night and biting one of us, sending us to the ever so posh and highly technological Kahuku Emergency Room. By the way, I'm being sarcastic. It's as ghetto-country as you'll ever find. Sarah and I quickly hopped onto the table while the guys chased the creepy crawly around the the edges of the apartment.

Finally, it was "killed in half", and although it was dead, I still felt that he/she had friends scaling our walls. We have yet seen another.
This is not the picture we took, but I wanted you to get an idea.

Thanksgiving.

This year for Thanksgiving we got together with some friends and we all brought something. I made an overly ambitious pie but it was sooo good!

Austin and Ellen, Zach and Sarah

We also had some friends come over for dinner tonight and we apparently had to have a theme... Ours was matching. Awkward, yeah?
